With so many self-hypnosis books currently on the market, this excellent account distinguishes itself by being clearly focused on a particular problem. It is also written by someone who is not only a clinical psychologist, but who has himself suffered from chronic pain.

Hypnotise Yourself Out of Pain - Our Treatment Plan

Pink Flowers Pain is an essential part of our experience - without it we couldn’t survive. It is a means of alerting us to dangers in the physical world and to problems with our own bodies.

Anyone suffering from physical pain should of course have their condition checked out by a doctor to determine whether they have a medical condition that needs investigation and treatment.

Some pain however cannot be clearly related to a medical cause or may outlive the condition that gave rise to it, developing an independent existence. Phantom limb pain is a graphic example of this. But pain in the form headaches, stomach ache, back ache or chest pain can also sometimes persist for no obvious medical reason.

This is not to say the pain is not real. What it does indicate, however, is that pain is not purely a physical phenomenon. Because of this it can be helped by the kinds of techniques which we use in hypnotherapy.
