Clients From All Over Lancashire…and From Bristol As Well!

Blackpool_tower_2Over the last month we have started treating clients at Kendal House Clinic, the new Lancashire based complementary therapies centre in Longridge, Preston.

The free half-hour consultation we are offering at the clinic has provided a useful opportunity for people to find out how hypnotherapy can help with their problem. So far everyone who has attended a free consultation has decided to go ahead with a programme of treatment. These appointments are an extension to our Ribchester practice.

This has been a busy month and we are currently dealing with clients seeking help with a wide range of issues. Our clients are also drawn from a large area, taking in Clitheroe, Chorley, Preston, Garstang and Southport.

In fact one client is currently travelling from Bristol for special two-hour appointments, which are supplemented by telephone sessions.

The Teacher who Beat Stress and Sleeplessness to Gain ‘a totally different view of who I am’

Insomnia3Sylvia came to us for hypnotherapy because she was suffering from severe stress as a result of her job as a teacher and manager in a Lancashire college. She had also suffered a blow to her confidence when she had to give up her management responsibility.

Viva Espana!

PlaneI am currently treating a wonderful lady for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). She won’t mind me saying that she is 81 years old.

When she rang to re-arrange her appointment this week because she’d booked a flight to Spain with her 84 year old sister, I knew the therapy had been a success! So did her daughter, who was amazed by her mother’s newfound confidence and zest for life.

How Hypnotherapy Helped Four-year-old Jessica

Soft_toysFour-and-a-half-year- old Jessica came to us with a big problem. In just a few months time, she was due to start school but her absolute refusal to use the toilet was creating major problems for both her and her mum.

Jessica was a bright, happy, confident child and there seemed no obvious reason why she had developed such an intense aversion to using the toilet and still insisted on wearing nappies. Jessica’s mum had tried everything and was at her wits end. She turned to hypnotherapy as a last resort.

Hypnotherapy For All Ages

Dolls1_3The range of clients we have treated over the last month is a reminder of the fact that hypnotherapy is effective for people of all ages.

In July we treated clients spanning from the ages of four-and-a-half to seventy-five. We have also seen some teenagers.

As always each client has their own unique story to tell. Every problem has aspects to it which are specific to that individual’s personality, past experiences and current life situation.

Public speaking can be nerve-wracking for all of us, but sometimes the pressure can become unbearable. For one of our clients a promotion at work meant she just had to face up to her fear.

Lizzie came to us with a fear of public speaking, which was severely retricting her in her job. Whenever faced with the prospect of having to speak to a large audience she found that her left leg shook uncontrollably.

Here in her own words is Lizzie’s account of how she overcame her fear through a combination of hypnotherapy and neuro-linguistic programming…

Client Case Study: Overcoming A Food Phobia

Fruitveg_2Jennifer came to us with a long-standing food phobia - she hadn’t eaten vegetables or fruit for nearly 30 years.

Here she explains in her own words, how she overcame her problem through therapy and her inner determination to succeed.

"Before starting therapy, I hadn’t eaten vegetables for approximately 30 years. My diet consisted of potatoes, meat and sandwiches.

I think I had in my mind that I would be hypnotised and be told that I liked vegetables and that would be that. Hey presto!

After a faltering start, I began to have more realistic expectations of what I could achieve through therapy. I was taught various techniques through hypnosis and coaching and these became invaluable to me.
