Why I Prescribe Gok Wan To My Clients
I am a huge fan of the fashion guru and TV presenter Gok Wan – especially his excellent How To Look Good Naked series.
I love the way Gok talks to women. He is interested in maximising their potential – but never changes the essence of who they really are.
Many of the clients we deal with are women who just don’t feel good about themselves. Whether they initially come to us for weight-loss, self-esteem or getting over a damaging relationship, most have had their confidence knocked in some way.
Over a series of sessions, we work with our clients to build-up their confidence and improve the view they have of themselves. We want to get the client to a place where they value and accept themselves and truly believe they deserve more from life.
We use a variety of techniques including hypnosis and various exercises specifically designed to help clients see themselves in a much more positive light.
But one of my more unusual bits of advice is to get my clients to tune into some of the ‘feel good’ or ‘make over’ programmes currently on TV. I want to demonstrate that change is possible and to encourage them to invest in themselves – even in some small way - because they are worth it.
I am not referring here to those programmes which rely heavily on cosmetic surgery for change. My aim is to get my clients to accept themselves and to make the most of who they are.
Which brings me to my love of Gok Wan. He is a wonderful antidote to the awful tide of superficial TV programmes and magazines full of plastic images of perfect, unattainable and unreal women
Give me Gok any day!
