We will be offering a workshop on Hypnotherapy as part of a second course on Complementary Therapies being run in Longridge, near Preston.

Pain is an essential part of our experience - without it we couldn’t survive. It is a means of alerting us to dangers in the physical world and to problems with our own bodies.
Anyone suffering from physical pain should of course have their condition checked out by a doctor to determine whether they have a medical condition that needs investigation and treatment.
Some pain however cannot be clearly related to a medical cause or may outlive the condition that gave rise to it, developing an independent existence. Phantom limb pain is a graphic example of this. But pain in the form headaches, stomach ache, back ache or chest pain can also sometimes persist for no obvious medical reason.
This is not to say the pain is not real. What it does indicate, however, is that pain is not purely a physical phenomenon. Because of this it can be helped by the kinds of techniques which we use in hypnotherapy.

We will be offering our first workshop of the year on Saturday, February 2, aimed at anyone wanting to get their weight under control – but particularly those fed-up with diets.
The idea for the workshop has come from our clients who feel that elements of our one-to-one programme would be well suited to a group environment.
One recent client who was particularly encouraging about the idea of a workshop, had struggled for years with her weight and had tried every diet under the sun.
She had also been a frequent member of various slimming groups over the years, but found that nothing really worked.
After six sessions she was over the moon with her progress, but also with the approach that we adopt: no diets and no willpower required.
